[LtU] The essence of Dataflow Programming by Tarmo Uustalu and Varmo Vene
Interesting, good paper. However, one major gripe. They write in one section:
Analogously to causal stream functions, one might also consider anticausal stream functions, i.e., functions for which the present value of the output signal only depends on the present and future values of the input signal. […] However, in real life, causality is much more relevant than anticausality!
You need both causality and anticausality to solve very hard problems. If “in real life” is no harder than peeling potatoes, then they are right. Otherwise, they are wrong.
